Hard work and resilience has proven that it's not impossible to have a beautiful garden, not to mention a thriving horticultural business, in southern Labrador.

About
us
To our valued customers:
It’s our 11th year in business! Unbelievable.
We can’t wait to get planting for our 2024 season! As many of you know, these past couple years have been one for the books. There have been lots of struggles, but gardening has been one escape we've enjoyed to get away from the realities of our world. We are thrilled to announce, with 12 months of meticulous planning, WE’RE BACK IN FULL SWING AGAIN! We’ll have a wonderful selection of premium annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, container gardens and veggies!

This year, we will not be accepting containers for custom orders. However, we will have a U-POT station where you can bring your containers to fill and plant yourself with all the plants you wish. Of course, we’ll be there to help you with container design and any other questions you may have.

We are also excited to announce a blossoming partnership with Terrington Coop in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. While we will not be able to accommodate deliveries to Goose Bay, our plants will be available there! If you are visiting us, feel free to make an order for pickup!
Our doors open for sale on Saturday, June 8th, 2024.
See you when we see you!
Our Name; Our Brand
Ever wonder why we're called 'Blue Spade'?
It's a family thing. To identify his shovels, rakes, and other tools from other people's, Ian's grandfather, Hedley Normore, painted the handles of his tools in a bright blue paint; the same color that is commonly known as 'L'Anse au Loup Blue.' If you're lucky, you'll see the famous blue shovel around--it's still in commission today!
